In Belgrade, on May 23 and 24, 2023, the scientific conference Postepidemiological stress: historical and medical dilemmas, organized by the Scientific Society for the History of Health Culture, was held at the Faculty of Philosophy.

Cases of devastating epidemics with extended duration have been observed continuously since the 2nd millennium BC. From the point of view of history, sociology and scientific medicine, the phenomenon of the long COVID, a pandemic that continues due to the irresponsibility and inefficiency of institutions, especially the public health system, in the face of epidemics from the People’s Republic of China, was examined. Russia’s attack on Ukraine also had the effect of prolonging the pandemic, and the conference highlighted the consequences for human health and social relations and the global economy, which has entered a worrying phase of stagnation and mestimic entropy. The conference concluded that the development of technology, which only a few months after decoding the corona virus offered several variants of effective vaccines, requires strict respect for scientific medicine in all responsible institutions and the public.
