A new issue of the scientific journal Acta Historiae Medicinae XXXVIII/2019 has been published. This issue deals with biopolitical topics with a special focus on memories of plague in Byzantine historiography of the late 8th and early 9th century, also on figs as a cure, about an attempt by Marcus Aurelius Severinus to reform surgery, plague epidemic in mid-18th century Istanbul and the record of an attack on a Jewish man Lawrence Hertzeg near Somor.
